Concrete sealers come in three main types:
Penetrating sealers, such as silane, siloxane, and siliconate, soak into the concrete and create a chemical barrier that repels water, salt, and stains while maintaining a natural look.
Acrylic sealers form a thin, protective film on the surface, enhancing color and providing moderate protection against moisture and UV exposure—ideal for decorative concrete.
Epoxy and polyurethane sealers offer the highest durability, creating a thick, glossy, and highly resistant surface that protects against chemicals, abrasion, and heavy traffic, making them ideal for industrial and commercial settings.
Each type varies in longevity, appearance, and application method, catering to different needs.
In all cases, the sealer must be applied on dry clean surfaces. Therefore, cleaning will occur on one day and the sealing will occur on a subsequent day (usually the next day).
